Car History
1957 Maserati 250S by Fanutzzi.
This car, Chassis # 2432, Reg # ESL 315 has a wealth of provenance. This is one of four examples built and believed to be the only example originally equipped with a 2.5-litre engine.
This is the Maserati 250S sold at auction recently for £2,128,000. Being one of only four examples of the 250S, its easy to see why this car commanded such a price when it came up for sale. It is also believed to be the only car fitted originally with a 2.5ltr engine (the other three were fitted with the 2ltr and were later bored out to 2.5).
Raced in period by Jim Hall and Carroll Shelby, the car only lasted one season before being superseded by the 300S.
